Why Verde Mom?

“Verde” means “green” in Spanish and several other languages, and I’m a Mother trying to live in a ‘green’ manner and educate others, to leave a legacy for my children and future generations.

“Mom”, because Motherhood is my most important role in life. I’m a work-at-home-Mom just trying to do the right thing for my family, like most Moms I know. Being a Founding Eco-Consultant has been the most rewarding part of my career to date!

Why Bother?

My generation and I have seen, and alas, caused, much of the damage to our planet. I do not claim to be the most active environmentalist, but I know that we have not been good stewards of this planet and its resources.

Take the island of plastic trash in the Pacific Ocean, for instance. My grandparents never used plastic, it is our ‘disposable society’ in the last few decades that created the problem, and our trashed plastic is affecting much of the ocean life and its eco-systems.

Speaking of waste, the growing landfill near our home is a constant reminder of the volume of waste we produce and provides me with daily motivation to do my part in reducing, reusing and recycling.

My biggest motivation is disease prevention and health education. Sadly, it is so prevalent in our society that we can now say that Cancer has touched us all. Many of the chemicals that are proven to cause Cancer, Asthma and other diseases and allergies are prevalent in our homes…and toxic ingredients are found in many of our everyday, trusted brand-name products that are known to be harmful.

How does Verde Mom give back?

Verde Mom provides eco-workshops, one-on-one consultations and offers speaking engagements to local organizations, at no charge. I also offer fundraisers for non-profit companies, schools and groups with dedicated, online websites for each worthy cause.
