We use the same great ingredients as our Organic Body Wash.

Conventional hand soaps contain Diethanolamine (DEA) a known carcinogen and Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) a skin irritant which strips the top layer of moisture from your skin.  They then add mineral oil to give the illusion of softer skin.  Mineral oil coats skin like a plastic and inhibits its natural healing ability.  Another concern is 1,4-Dioxane, a carcinogen which can appear as a contaminant in products containing sodium laureth sulfate and ingredients that include the terms "PEG," "-xynol," "ceteareth," "oleth" and most other ethoxylated "eth" ingredients.  1,4 Dioxane has even been found in certified organic products which contain the above petrochemicals. 

Most conventional products are scented with chemical fragrances.  The FDA does not require personal care products to list the ingredients in their fragrance.  When EPA researchers tested thirty-one fragrance products, they found that more than half the products contained ingredients listed under the EPA’s Toxic Substance Control Act.

A final concern is the preservatives that end in –paraben.  According a report by the Breast Cancer Fund, “Parabens are a group of compounds used as anti-microbial preservatives in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics products. Measurable concentrations of six different parabens have been identified in biopsy samples from breast tumors. Parabens have been shown to be weak estrogen mimickers, binding to the cellular estrogen receptor (ER). They also increase the expression of genes that are usually regulated by estradiol and cause human breast tumor cells (MCF-7 cells) to grow and proliferate in vitro.”
